January 2003 saw Southern NSW and the A.C.T. suffer its worse bush fire crisis in living history. More than 500 homes destroyed and 4 lives lost. The thick smoke turned Day into night on Saturday 18th January as this relentless Fire Storm swept across the region leaving a trail of damage that no one could imagine as being possible.
This page is a tribute to the Volunteer Firefighters who gave up their time and in many cases their income to battle this Wildfire that will go down in history as one of Australia's worse disasters.
Our hearts go out to those who lost their homes and possessions.
To the relatives and friends of those who lost their lives we share your grief.
